Brosnans CD comes to U.S. shores after receiving much attention from Europe and New Zealand. ” Beneath Southland Skies” received five nominations for the November 2006 German Rock and Pop Music Awards, where Brosnan won three major awards, including: Best Male R&B Vocalist, Best Male Folk-Rock Vocalist, and Best Male Country Vocalist.
Brosnan is a true craftsman of song, a powerful and emotive singer, as well as an exceptional guitarist. His slide guitar playing draws comparisons to slide gurus Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. With this latest release, Mike Brosnan delivers his unique style drawing from such diverse influences as rock, folk, blues, Celtic and country. This highly anticipated CD was recorded at Wohnzimmer Studios in Darmstadt, Germany. The album was mixed at the acclaimed Matrix Digital studio in Wellington, New Zealand, and mastered by The Reel Thing in Karben, Germany.
Brosnan will head out on his U.S. tour at the end of October to promote Beneath Southland Skies, and will start with various TV and radio appearances in Nashville, TN to coincide with the Americana Music Associations annual conference.
